Yves notre correspondant en Allemagne s'est rendu à ce salon un peu spécial, où ça sentait fort la motorisation dite "verte" (Electricité et Hydrogène).

Yves, our correspondent in Germany, went to this rather special show, where there was a strong smell of so-called “green” motorization (Electricity and Hydrogen).

Depuis une dizaine de jours, nous avons entre 30 et 40 visites quotidiennes en provenace d'Israël. Nous participons ainsi sans l'avoir prévu à divertir un moment nos amis Israëliens et en leur honneur, nous publions deux photos de Sabra 1700 SC qui est un véhicule d'origine israélienne.
Cette voiture a été conçue en collaboration avec la firme anglaise Reliant qui produisit un modèle trés proche: la Reliant Sabre équipée d'un moteur 6 cylindres 2.5L alors que la Sabra est équipée d'un 4 cylindres 1.7L.

For the past ten days, we have had between 30 and 40 daily visits from Israel. We are therefore participating without having planned to entertain our Israeli friends for a moment and in their honor, we are publishing two photos of the Sabra 1700 SC which is a vehicle of Israeli origin.
This car was designed in collaboration with the English firm Reliant which produced a very similar model: the Reliant Sabre equipped with a 2.5L 6 cylinders engine while the Sabra is equipped with a 1.7L 4 cylinders.

Ce 24 octobre avait lieu la journée "pre-view" du salon EMS 2023 reservée à la presse. Celà se passait dans un bel endroit à savoir le hangar du dirigeable WDL.
Le virage de "l'électrique" commence à se faire sentir de plus en plus.. dommage dirons certains (dont nous sommes !)
Yves qui participait à cette présentation, nous adresse son reportage photo. Vous y verrez également quelques vues du magnifique hangar tout en bois et du dirigeable.
Le salon public aura lieu à Essen du 2 au 10 décembre prochain.

On October 24, the “preview” day of the EMS 2023 show took place, reserved for the press. This took place in a beautiful place, i/e  the hangar of the WDL airship.
The shift towards "electric" is starting to be felt more and more... too bad some would say (including us!)
Yves, who participated in this presentation, sends us his photo report. You will also see some views of the magnificent wooden hangar and the airship.
The public show will take place in Essen from December 2 to 10 next year.

Lors du Tractomania de ce mois-ci à Caussade, la marque de tracteur mise à l'honneur était Someca. Parmi les nombreux modèles de la marque exposés, il y avait deux curiosités : des tracteurs articulés nommés "Bi-Som-Trac". Ils sont construits par assemblage de deux tracteurs simples à deux roues motrices de même modèle, les trains avant sont supprimés, et les deux équipements ainsi transformés sont accouplés. On obtient ainsi un tracteur articulé de grande longueur à deux moteurs, et quatre roues motrices de grand diamètre. Toutes les commandes : Contrôle moteurs, direction, freins, etc. sont regroupées sur le module arrière.
Deux modèles étaient présents: un Bi-Som-Trac 80 H et un 1000, ils dataient tous deux de 1962, et étaient magnifiquement restaurés.

During this month, Tractomania in Caussade, the tractor brand in the spotlight was Someca. Among the many models of the brand on display, there were two curiosities: articulated tractors called "Bi-Som-Trac". They are built by assembling two simple two-wheel drive tractors of the same model, the front axles are removed, and the two pieces of equipment thus transformed are coupled. In this way, we obtain a very long articulated tractor with two engines and four large diameter driving wheels. All controls : Motor control, steering, brakes, etc. are grouped together on the rear module.
Two models were present, a BiSom-Trac 80 H and a 1000, they both dated from 1962, and were beautifully restored.

Ce week-end 21 et 23 octobre avait lieu la manifestation Tractomania à Caussade. Le coeur de cette manifestation est une exposition de tracteurs et engins agricoles divers.
En marge de cette manifestation avait lieu une exposition de véhicules de collection.

This weekend, October 21 and 23, the Tractomania event took place in Caussade. The heart of this event is an exhibition of tractors and various agricultural machines.
On the sidelines of this event, an exhibition of classic vehicles took place.

Le week-end des 7 et 8 octobre courant avait lieu la dizième édition du Classic Festival. Belle réussite avec plus de 1000 véhicules au RdV, les invités d'honneur étaient : Jean Ragnotti, Henri Pescarolo et Jacques Laffitte. Parmi les véhicules en piste il y avait une bonne répartition entre Monoplaces et Sport-Prototypes et GT. Quelques belles d'avant-guerre étaient aussi de la partie.

The tenth edition of the Classic Festival took place on the weekend of October 7 and 8.
Great success with more than 1000 vehicles at the RdV, the guests of honor were:
Jean Ragnotti,Henri Pescarolo and Jacques Laffitte.
Among the vehicles on track there was a good, almost balanced share of single-seaters
and sports-prototypes and GTs. Some beautiful pre-war ones were also there.

"L'expo" comme elle est nommée, est un gros rassemblement Auto-Moto-Tracteurs-Camions de fin septembre organisé par le club "Macadam Passion". Il a lieu sur le grand parking du supermarché Geant Casino. Près de 1300 véhicules étaient annoncés, dès 11h00 il n'y avait plus de place disponible donc les 1300 véhicules ont été atteints voir dépassés.
Le coté positif est bien entendu la grande variété de véhicules présents classés par marque ou par type. Le coté un peu moins positif est la trés grande fréquentation dont pas mal de quidams pas toujours trés disciplinés.
Notre coup de coeur a été pour la "Marcadier Barzoï II", qui est un kit car Français de 1977 sur une base de Simca 1000 Rallye II. Ses formes trés cunéiformes, lui ont valu toutes proportions gardées le surnom de "Countach Française" (i/e Lamborghini Countach des années 70).

“The expo” as it is called, is a big Auto-Moto-Tractor-Truck gathering at the end of September organized by the “Macadam Passion” club. It takes place in the large parking of the Geant Casino supermarket. Nearly 1300 vehicles were announced, from 11:00 a.m. there was no more space available so the 1300 vehicles were reached or even exceeded.
The positive side is of course the wide variety of vehicles present classified by brand or type. The slightly less positive side is the very large attendance, including any quidams who are not always very disciplined.
Our favorite was the "Marcadier Barzoï II", which is a French kit car from 1977 based on a Simca 1000 Rallye II. Its very wedge-shaped and have relatively earned it the nickname "French Countach" (i/e Lamborghini Countach from the 70s).

C'est toujours sympathique de revenir à Angoulême mi-septrembre pour cet évènement qu'est "le Circuit des Remparts". Comme à l'habitude nous avions une belle participation de nos amis Anglais avec des MG, Austin, Riley, Frazer Nash, GN et autres. Un fort contingent de Bugatti's était aussi de la partie. Quelques pilotes de renom étaient présents : François Delecour, Marc Duez, Jean Ragnotti, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Eric Helary, Bernard Darniche.
Les constructions automobiles d'Edouard Ballot étaient exposées dans les jardins autour de l'hôtel de ville.
Et sur ce week-end il y avait également un concours d'élégance et un rallye.

It's always nice to come back to Angoulême in mid-September for this event that is "le Circuit des Remparts". As usual we had a great participation from our British friends with : MG, Austin, Riley, Frazer Nash, GN and others. A strong contingent of Bugatti's was also there. Some renowned drivers were present: François Delecour, Marc Duez, Jean Ragnotti, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Eric Helary, Bernard Darniche.
Emile Ballot's construction cars were exhibited in the gardens around the town hall.
And on this weekend there was also a competition of elegance and a rally.
